Very good. The riffs here are ones I've always wanted to do. This book and CD make you want to dig in and learn them.
I recommend it. It makes it easy to make serious progress, once you have gotten better at scales. As a result of having had a positive experience with this book, I intend to be on the lookout for anything else that he has out and available. Whether you are an intermediate or advanced level guitarist, this is an item you will want to add to your resource library. Get it and have some fun. Once you master the licks, they are with you, and will add a lot to your playing. I have definitely enjoyed both the book and the CD, and have learned some serious new blues licks. Even if you are a beginner, I would recommend getting the book, just to have it available when you are ready for it.
This could be solved if in each lick he had changed the style of playing a little, to get this or that lick inspired by this or that guitarist. this is a good licks book, but you must understand that you need to get the author style of playing. My second complain is that there are very few explanations, you'll have to figure out the scales used. Anyway, you'll get many licks from the book, just don't expect to be the bible people are claiming. He repeats some fingerings a lot that you must master to make your playing sound exactly like the cd. And thats the problem for me, cause I didn't like many of the fingerings for the licks, my playing is simply different.
Publishers take note. I buy a lot of guitar instruction books, but I need to see at least a few samples before I will buy.
Lots of great material.Only downside I've found is that the book is so dense with material I haven't hit the sections on tying them all together. Well written and organized book that breaks down the 12 bars into 2 bar chunks.
